Maude Armatage

Maude Armatage is the woman for which this neighborhood is named. Maude Armatage was the first woman to serve on the Minneapolis Park board. She was a voice for children and pushed for more playgrounds and programs for young people. She also played a big role in making our parks safer at night by adding better lighting. A great woman, and a wonderful neighborhood, even City Pages thinks so as Armatage was named the Best Neighborhood in 2012. I found this picture of Maude to be a fitting picture to end the first photo project in the Armatage neighborhood. Thank you to all of my fellow photographers, I enjoyed seeing your photos each week, thank you to Noah and Jen for putting them up every morning and leading this project and thank you to our audience for being our followers and fans!

First Butterfly

I went to take a picture of this amazing crabapple tree in full bloom and lucked out with my first butterfly of the season.
